Annual Crab Feed & Grassroots Forum

The Washington State Democrats' Annual  Crab Feed at Lacey was a big success!

The early reception was full of candidates, including Congressional candidate Elizabeth Uelmen.  Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell were very available and glad to converse with all.

Speeches during the excellent meal (crab, salmon, clams, salad, beans, and bread) included Gov Chris Gregoire, Senator Patty Murray, Senator Maria Cantwell, Congressman (and gubernatorial candidate) Jay Inslee, Congressman Adam Smith.

The speeches were rousing, touching on recent legislation like same-sex marriage, and included a positive outlook for the future with strong optimism from those running for re-election.  All the candidates in the room, and there were many, took the microphone briefly and introduced themselves.

About 15 people from Clark County attended including CCDCC Chair Kathy Lawrence, 3rd CD Chair Marsha Manning, 17th Chair Dena Horton, 18th Chair Dave Shehorn, and County Treasurer Doug Lasher.
